PTHP 8300 - The Nervous Movement System II (2 Credit Hours)This is the second course in the nervous movement system sequence. It provides students with the opportunity to develop the skills, knowledge, and competency necessary to manage patients/clients with neurologic injury and illness. Emphasis is placed on assessing and addressing the specific needs of individuals with progressive neurologic diseases. The course also emphasizes the special considerations of ongoing health promotion and wellness of individuals with chronic stable and progressive neurologic disorders across the lifespan. It is expected that the knowledge and skills gained in this course will be applied to effectively and efficiently manage patients/ clients with common neurologic problems across the continuum of care to include application of the ICF model, history taking, systems review, examination, evaluation, diagnosis, prognosis, treatment and progression, re-evaluation, and discharge.
