PTHP 8120 - The Musculoskeletal Movement System III (2 Credit Hours)The third and final course in the musculoskeletal movement system sequence. Provides students with the opportunity to develop the skills, knowledge, and competency necessary to manage patients/clients with amputations including determining prosthetic candidacy, the team approach to prosthetic prescription, prosthetic components, recognizing and managing prosthetic gait deviations, and prosthetic training. It is expected that the knowledge and skills gained in this course will be applied to effectively and efficiently manage patients/ clients that require the use of prostheses and/or orthoses across the lifespan and continuum of care to include application of the ICF model, history taking, systems review, examination, evaluation, diagnosis, prognosis, treatment and progression, re-evaluation, and discharge.
