PTHP 8005 - The Integumentary and Endocrine Movement Systems (3 Credit Hours)Provides students with the opportunity to develop the skills, knowledge, and competency necessary to manage patients/clients with diseases and conditions that impact the integumentary system, including diabetes and vascular insufficiencies. Topics covered include basic science, pathophysiology, and the clinical skills required for the examination and treatment of various wounds and burn injuries. Students select and perform examination of the integumentary and endocrine systems across the lifespan and environments of care. Emphasis is on the evaluation and development of a comprehensive plan of care to improve patient/client health and outcomes. It is expected that the knowledge and skills gained in this course will be applied to patients/clients across the lifespan and continuum of care to include application of the ICF model, history taking, systems review, examination, evaluation, diagnosis, prognosis, treatment and progression, re-evaluation, and discharge.
