ENGL 2250 - Intro to Literary Studies
A course in the fundamental concepts, strategies, and skills needed for the pursuit of a degree in English. Involves study and application of literary terminology and a survey of critical and theoretical approaches to literature. Covers major literary genres and provides intensive instruction in fundamentals of writing about literature: critical thinking, close reading, bibliography and research methods, and conventions of academic writing. Requires completion of a formal research paper with a grade of C or better. Prerequisite(s): ENGL 1101-1102 or 1113 -1114 with a grade of C or better.
