The Office of Student Financial Aid (OSFA) is dedicated to providing guidance and assistance for students to help ease the financial burdens associated with their education. We strive to assist our students in funding their education while at Augusta University.
To receive federal and state financial aid, you must meet certain eligibility requirements which include but are not limited to such things as being a U. S. citizen or eligible non-citizen and maintaining Satisfactory Academic Progress.
To apply for federal financial aid, students must complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) at https://fafsa.gov. To apply for state scholarship and grant programs, students must complete the Georgia Student Financial Aid Application System (GSFAAPS) at https://gafutures.org.
The financial aid application priority deadlines for each term are as follows: Fall Semester – April 1st; Spring Semester - October 1st; and Summer Semester - March 1st. Students are expected to submit all required applications and support documents on or before the published financial aid application priority deadlines for the chosen enrollment term. Failure to meet the priority deadline may result in incurring your own educational expenses until your financial aid file is complete and aid has been processed.
All scholarships awarded by the Augusta University Scholarship and Financial Assistance Committee require completion of an online general application, which can be found at https://augusta.academicworks.com. Refer to the Office of Student Financial Aid website for additional information, augusta.edu/finaid.
New Summer Students: For financial aid purposes, the summer semester is at the end of the award year. You must complete a FAFSA for both the current academic year and for the next academic year. Example: If enrolling at Augusta University during the Summer 2019 semester, you must complete both the 2018-2019 FAFSA (covers Fall 2018, Spring 2019, and Summer 2019) and the 2019-2020 FAFSA (covers Fall 2019, Spring 2020, and Summer 2020).
OSFA provides education funding from sources such as grants, scholarships, loans, and the federal work-study program. We encourage you to explore other financial aid opportunities such as external scholarships.
