Program Overview

Graduates who earn a bachelor’s degree in mathematics with a concentration in biostatistics are logical thinkers and trained problem solvers.  They have a broad background in a variety of mathematical techniques with a focus on statistics and data science.  They embark on careers as statisticians, epidemiologists, actuaries, and many other careers.  A graduate is also well prepared to continue their education in graduate school, medical school, or other programs of study.

Core IMPACTS Courses: 42 Hours

Field of Study Courses: 18 Hours


A grade of C or better is required in all of the following courses.

Select one course from the following:


No course may duplicate any previous selection. Overflow hours go into General Electives.

Major Concentration: 28 Hours


Minor Courses/Electives: 33 Hours


Select and fulfill the requirements of a minor in a different discipline than the major and/or select electives as needed to complete the credit hours required for graduation.  Select electives from any non-WELL courses. At least 12 hours must be from upper-level courses (3XXX or 4XXX).

Wellness Graduation Requirement: 4 Hours


Students who begin at or transfer to Augusta University with less than 60 credit hours must complete the Wellness Requirement.

Degree Total: 124 Hours
