The Integrated Master of Arts in Teaching (IMAT) program is a high impact, high quality, program designed to generate student desire to attain 6-12 teacher certification and to recruit highly qualified undergraduate STEM majors for the teaching profession. Graduates will earn a Bachelor’s Degree (B.S.) in a Biology AND a Masters of Arts in Teaching (MAT) through a streamlined program.

Successful application to the IMAT degree must be completed before enrollment in any graduate classes is allowed. A 2.75 overall GPA is required for application and a graduate GPA of 3.0 must be maintained throughout the graduate program. IMAT Degree: 39

(A Senior Exit Examination is required of all graduating biology majors. A Scaled Score of 135 or Higher on the ETS Major Field Test is required. Should a student fail to obtain a score of 135, he/she will be required to take the ETS Major Field Test a second time. Failure to obtain a score of 135 or higher on the second attempt will result in the student taking an oral exam administered by the Department of Biology.) |
