- Description and Objective of the Certificate
The TESOL Certificate is a fifteen-hour undergraduate certificate. The certificate may be completed by any undergraduate student. The goal of this certificate is to enable students to teach English to speakers of other languages abroad or in private institutions in the USA by providing essential knowledge and teaching skills. It includes courses such as English linguistics, English grammar, culture, and teaching methods. The TESOL Certificate will be awarded at the end of the undergraduate program. It could also be offered to post-baccalaureate students as an add-on certificate.
- Student Admissions Criteria
* 60 hours in the undergraduate program
* 2.5 cumulative GPA
* Completion of a foreign language at the 2002 level or equivalent. Students could be exempted from the foreign language requirement after taking the written and oral exams if they place in the intermediate-advanced level according to the ACTFL standards.
