GFA 2040 - Fundamentals of Editing with Avid Media Composer 100 (6 Credit Hours) This course is designed to help students develop the skills needed to enter the film industry as a post-production PA, in assisting with preparing dailies, or as an assistant editor. The foundation of the curriculum is Avid’s certified training contained in their most recent Fundamentals 1 (MC101) and Fundamentals 2 (MC110) courses, and students will have the opportunity to certify as an Avid Certified User. Students who complete this course will have a very solid and broad base of knowledge that will allow them to integrate with a post-production team. This includes knowledge of the equipment, techniques, communications, and specifications used in the post-production department, as well as post-production industry standards and the physical requirements and expectations the job will require.
