APHS 8130 - Grant Writing (3 Credit Hours) Introduces the methods of scientific and education grant writing. Explores the different sections of a grant proposal and the role of a grant reviewer. Students will be able to appreciate the importance of understanding how the missions of funding agencies determine the types of grant submissions, as well as how to write a grant based on reviewer grading criteria. The ultimate goal is to prepare the doctoral students to begin to think about what their research interests are and what types of projects they need to design to write a scientific or education grant for their doctoral training and future employment.
