ART 3555 - Tactile Graphics: Printed Surface for Books and Limited Edition (3 Credit Hours) As design is further embedded in daily printed and digital environments, tactile surfaces continue to gain importance because of the experience it creats for the viewer. A survey of techniques include paper engineering, sequential surfaces, movable type, relief, and digitally produced photopolymer plates. Each one of these processes has a unique interaction with various types of paper. Students in this course create limited edition prints exploring composition and media in the development of technical skills utilizing the wide range of tactile applications including book making.
