NURS 6925 - PNP I: Health Promotion & Supervision: Birth through Adolescence
This course is designed to prepare Pediatric Nurse Practitioners to assume responsibility for health promotion, health maintenance and management of children from birth to adolescence. Emphasis is on the child within the framework of the family. Stages of development will be explored from biophysiologica, cognitive, emotional, and sociocultural perspectives. Discussion will include non-pharmacologic and pharmacologic management including immunizations supporting health promotion. Criteria for consulation and indications for referral along with exploration of available community resources will also be considered.
