NURS 7200 - Directed Studies in Adv Scienc
Prerequisite: Graduate DNP Standing or permission of the instructor.
Directed Studies in Advanced Science involves the systematic attempt to explain a phenomena of interest. It is a foundational course in seminar format that allows students to explore the scientific underpinnings of advanced nursing practice. Under the direction of their advisors, students will design a concentrated self-directed learning plan based on the scientific knowledge needed for advanced practice in an area of clinical concentration or phenomenon of interest. It includes disciplinary questions while providing answers to questions that are at the core of the discipline of nursing (Meleis, 2005) and includes knowledge based on empirical evidence.
