DPHY 5002 - Physiological Foundation for D
This is the second of two courses designed to present Physiology to dental students with a special emphasis placed on concepts and principles specifically related to dental practice. While this course provides dental students with an integrated knowledge of the functional systems of the human body, it also covers specific topics unique to dental practice such as: N2O sedation in dentistry; the diabetic patient; pregnancy gingivitis; and the relationship between calcium homeostasis and alveolar bone loss.
