CLSC 6840 - Clinical Hematology



Study of blood cell derivation, maturation, physiology, and function with emphasis on normal and abnormal blood and bone marrow morphology. Correlation of hematological and hemostasis tests with other clinical findings in the diagnosis of various blood dycrasias and hemostatic disorders are discussed and emphasized with case study materials. Includes the study of body fluids. The student will be expected to perform critical evaluations of clinical cases and/or scientific papers and additional advanced practice competencies in related content area. Course prerequisites: Successful completion of CLSC 6640 and CLSC 6645
