CLSC 6740 - Clinical Immunohematology Application of basic immunological concepts to the study of red cell antigens and antibodies in relation to compatibility testing for transfusion of blood products. Include discussions on Blood Bank organizations and regulations, genetic inheritance of blood groups, speical techniques, AIHA, HDN, blood components, donors and blood collection, quality control, serological testing of blood products, and future trends in Blood Banking. The student will be expected to perform critical evaluations of clinical cases and/or scientific papers and additional advanced practice competencies in related content area.
