Program Overview
The 21-hour Leadership Tier I Certification Only program offers candidates significant opportunities to apply knowledge and skills in real educational settings, which will be documented in the E-Portfolios in Anthology. Educators who complete the program will be eligible for Tier I Leadership Certification in Georgia. The degree may be completed in three consecutive semesters when you follow the class rotation schedule. This is an embedded or standalone certificate.

Program Accreditation
The program is accredited by the Georgia Professional Standards Commission (GaPSC), the accrediting agency, as an integral part of the Educational Leadership Preparation Program in the College of Education and Human Development at Augusta University.

Progression and Graduation Requirements
- Observations of highly skilled leaders for growth are documented at all levels (i.e., P-5, 6-8, 9-12, Central Office Administrator)
- Coach (with a current L5 certificate) to supervise the three residency classes is identified
- Development of an e-portfolio demonstrating knowledge, skills, and application of Educational Leadership Standards and completion of the required field experience hours
- Obtain a passing score on the GACE 311 Leadership Content Assessment prior to July 1, 2025, or the GACE GT334 GACE Educational Leadership Tier I Assessment after July 1, 2025, to add leadership certification to your GAPSC educator certificate.
