Program Overview
The online Master of Public Health (MPH) Program, offered through Augusta University Online and accredited by the Council on Education for Public Health (CEPH), offers core public health courses with concentrations in Health Management, Health Informatics, and Social and Behavioral Sciences. The Program also includes a public health internship and a capstone research experience. This comprehensive educational experience is designed to prepare leaders with critical thinking, problem-solving, and information management skills needed to improve health care delivery and promote public health.
The research-focused MPH degree will equip you with the necessary expertise to confront public health challenges head on as you develop effective, equitable solutions. Through a mixture of asynchronous coursework and hands-on fieldwork, the online MPH will teach you:
- How to promote public health in a rapidly changing health landscape
- The core competencies of public health and how they relate to your community
- Key research strategies to help you uncover transformative solutions
- The importance of community- and patient-centric strategies in fighting public health problems
The online MPH offers a mixture of asynchronous coursework and hands-on fieldwork that helps students explore public health solutions through research. The Social and Behavioral Sciences concentration focuses on proposing public health initiatives that address the psychological and emotional elements of public health.

Admissions Information
To be considered for admission to the online MPH program, the following items must be submitted along with your application:
- Official transcripts from all universities and colleges attended, showing that you’ve earned a bachelor’s degree or equivalent from an accredited college or university, with a GPA above 2.8 on a 4.0 scale
- Three formal letters of recommendation
- Resume/CV
- Proof of Lawful Presence: According to Policy 4.3.4 of the University System of Georgia, any student requesting to pay at the in-state tuition rate will be required to provide verification of their lawful presence in the United States in order to be classified as an in-state student or awarded an out-of-state tuition waiver.

Progression & Graduation Requirements
- Any student whose cumulative GPA for a degree program drops below 2.8 will be placed on academic probation. While on probation, the student must earn a minimum 3.0 GPA each semester until the cumulative GPA raises to at least 2.8. Students who fail to obtain at least a 3.0 GPA each semester while on probation will be considered for an academic dismissal from TGS.
- Graduation requires the successful completion of 45 credit hours within a maximum of five years.
