Return to {$returnto_text} Return to: Degrees and Majors

Program Overview

The AU Chemistry program is nationally accredited with students having the option of obtaining an American Chemical Society (ACS) certified degree. Students seeking the ACS approved degree certificate generally follow the professional concentration and complete a research thesis. The Professional Concentration ensures that students have experience in all 5 traditional areas of chemistry- inorganic, organic, physical, analytical, and biochemistry.  Major electives allow students to include undergraduate research or explore other course areas such as medicinal, forensic, or nuclear chemistry.  A minor is not required for this degree.
