Program Overview
Are you interested in Health Issues or a health-related career? Do you like to think about issues from more than one perspective? Do you want to make a difference in the world?
The BA in Health, Society, and Policy (HESP) might be exactly what you need!
HESP is an interdisciplinary degree that examines how human behavior and policy making impact health. Students learn to recognize social and cultural determinants that influence individual and group differences in health status across diverse populations.
HESP’s interdisciplinary curriculum is ideal for students who are interested in learning about health from a variety of perspectives, or who want to work in health-related fields, but not necessarily in a hospital or clinic. We provide a robust foundation in social sciences, history, and philosophy, plus a variety of complementary electives that range from chemistry and communication to psychology and Spanish.
