Program Description:
The Applied Information Systems and Technologies (AIST) curriculum provides students with a broad foundation of technical skills and understanding. The curriculum is highly flexible, which allows students to personalize their curriculum to obtain the necessary skills and knowledge needed for their desired career path.

Career Opportunities:
The AIST curriculum’s flexibility allows students to obtain the necessary skills requested by IT employers. Students can remain current with emerging technology and pursue careers as application developers, information security analysts, website designer/developers, database analysts, network analysts, systems analysts, data analysts, etc. Graduates are employed in the corporate, non-profit, and governmental organizations, along with small businesses and entrepreneurial start-up organizations.

Scholarships:
Over $100,000 is awarded in scholarships annually and AIST students are eligible to apply for all Hull College of Business scholarships. Interested applicants should visit the Hull College of Business website for more information.

Admission into the James M. Hull College of Business:
All aspiring undergraduate AIST students entering the university are admitted as Pre-AIST majors until they meet the pre-requisites to gain admittance into the Hull College of Business.

Pre-AIST majors will need to satisfy the following requirements for entry into the Hull College of Business: completion of at least 45 semester hours; completion of the following courses with a “C” or better and an overall GPA of 2.5 or above in these seven courses: ENGL 1101, ENGL 1102, MATH 1111, MATH 2210, CSCI 1301, and two of the following three courses: CSCI 1302, AIST 2320, AIST 2220. Students may retake any of these courses and only the highest grade in the course will count toward the minimum required GPA.

Core Curriculum Areas A‑E (with Overlay Areas I, II, and III): 42 Hours

Requirements for enrolling in the Hull College of Business AIST - Upper Divsion Courses:


Students must have met the following admission requirements:

Completion of at least 45 semester hours of courses.
Completion of the following core courses with a “C” or better and an overall GPA of 2.5 or above in these seven courses: 

 ,  , MATH 1111  ,  ,  , and two of the following three courses:  ,  ,  .

Major Emphasis: 21 Hours


Major Elective courses can be any upper-level (3000-4000) course from AIST, CSCI, MINF, or QUAN.

AIST 4840 (industry certification) carries variable credit (1 to 12) to allow external certifications to be applied towards Major Electives for a maximum of 12 hours. Each certification must be assessed by the AIST curriculum committee to determine eligibility and credit hours equivalency.

Senior Requirements: 6 Hours


Electives: 9 Hours


 No more than 6 hours can be taken within the Hull College of Business.

Wellness Graduation Requirement: 4 Hours


Total Hours for the Degree: 124
