Do you love films? Are you excited about promotions? Interested in learning to produce a radio show or shoot a documentary? How about acting? Enjoy debate and public speaking? All of these are possible through coursework in the Department of Communications.
The B.A. in Communications has five concentrations from which to choose: Communication Studies, Journalism, Public Relations, Television/Cinema and Theatre.
Extracurriculars include: Monday Night Film Series, Film Club, Public Relations Club, Bell Ringer newspaper, Phoenix magazine, annual speech contest, theatre productions, and Lambda Pi Eta National Honors Society.
Scholarships: Communications Majors are encouraged to apply for departmental scholarships. Information is available in the main departmental office in Allgood Hall.

Communication Studies focuses on human communication: intrapersonal communication, interpersonal communication, small group communication, public speaking, organizational communication, or intercultural communication. Students learn more about spoken, written and nonverbal ways to relate to one another.
Careers in Communication Studies
