NURS 7180 - Mental Health-Psychiatric Nursing and the Individual Client
Prerequisite: Admission to the School of Graduate Studies and NURS 7160
This course presents theoretical and clinical concepts applicable to psychotherapeutic interventions in advanced nursing practice. Focus is on evidence-based behavioral interventions for clients with selected mental and substance use disorders. Students critically examine theories and research related to psychopathology from a biopsychosocial perspective. Students assess individual clients, select target symptoms, analyze client behaviors, and select, implement, and evaluate evidence-based treatments for individuals with selected disorders.
