EDTD 5940 - Foundations of Reading Seminar (2 Credit Hours)This course provides a scientifically based foundation in the cognitive, sociocultural, linguistic, and motivational influences on reading. Concepts of word recognition, phonology, phonics, morphology, fluency, vocabulary, and comprehension are presented. Connections to written expression, assessment, content area/disciplinary literacy and special populations in varied contexts are explored. Candidates must earn a B or higher in this course to satisfy the foundations of literacy requirement.
Corequisite(s): EDTD 5910 or SPED 5013 Lecture Hours: 2 Contact Hours: 2 Repeatability: May not be repeated for credit. Grade Mode: N- Normal (A, B, C, D, F)
