MGED 3100 - The Nature and Needs of the Middle Grades Learner (3 Credit Hours)This course is designed to enable teacher candidates to analyze and examine the nature of the middle grades student. The developmental needs and characteristics of students as adolescents and as individuals will be studied. A special focus on involving parents and the community in meeting the unique needs of middle grades students will be addressed. A field experience component is required in a local school setting.
