DSOM 5591 - Oral Medicine Clinic I (1 Credit Hour)
This clinical course focuses on applying the principles in obtaining a health history/medical history for the medically compromised patients and performing a comprehensive soft tissue head and neck examination/oral cancer screening and risk assessment. Students will develop a clinical experience in taking medical history medication history ; learn clinical pharmacology and how patients’ oral health is affected by medications. Develop a medical risk assessment and treatment approach for medically complex patient and learn to develop modifications to dental care tailored to the specific patient’s need based on the medical risk assessment.
