MUSI 4800 - Live Music Production (3 Credit Hours)

Performing artists typically make a greater percentage of their revenue from liver performances and touring than from their album sales & streams, making it more important than ever for artists to have the skills to design and run a live show that looks & sounds professional and engaging. This course will provide students with opportunities to deepen their understanding of analog synthesis, sequencing, and production techniques suitable for either stage or studio, learn the basics of analog and digital sound reinforcement, and explore lighting techniques for live productions. This course will also serve as a culminating experience for students working towards their music technology certificate, drawing on concepts and techniques taught across the previous three courses (Foundations of Music Production I and II, and Music Technology for Multimedia).
