RSBS 5201 - Behavioral Science Applied to Dentistry (2 Credit Hours)
This course presents essential behavioral science and communication skills required for successful patient management. Topics are steps in a Model for Behavioral Change that includes: rapport development, motivation, developing understanding and skill, obtaining a commitment to performance, techniques of behavior modification, behavioral approaches to anxiety and pain management, and health promotions. Cultural diversity is also addressed to sensitize students to the needs of patients from different cultures.
