PTHP 8243 - Medical Conditions III (5 Credit Hours)
Prerequisites: Successful completion of previous DPT coursework.
This course is designed to provide students with the knowledge and skills necessary to provide appropriate PT interventions based on the examination, diagnosis and prognosis of patients with complex medical and surgical problems. Special emphasis will be placed on the patient with multiple medical problems in the critical care unit, the post-surgical patient with amputations, patients with obstetrical and gynecological disorders and patients with cancer. End of life issues will be discussed. Course content will be presented in modified problem/case-based format and will include small group study, interactive labs, resources and lecture sessions.
