SABR 2002 - SABR in Humanities: Baroque to Modern
This course provides a historical review of Western art, music and literature from the Baroque era through the Twentieth century. This course is a study abroad course and requires (1) attendance at appropriate musical events; (2) systematic on-site study of art works in museums, collections, churches and architectural sites in various foreign cities; (3) study of a significant number of literary works; (4) an interdisciplinary essay, with a copy to be filed with the GRU Director of Humanities; (5) factual exams over study questions covering Western art, music, and literature of the period. Students who want credit toward areas B or C of the core must get written prior approval from two of the four following individuals: Chair of EFL; Chair of Art; Chair of Music; the Director of Humanities. The course may be taken only once for credit toward areas B or C of the core. Students who receive credit for SABR 2001 can not receive credit for SABR 2002. Students who have completed HUMN 2001 and HUMN 2002 cannot receive credit for SABR 2001. Prerequisite(s): ENGL 1102 or ENGL 1114.
