NURS 4616 - Externship: Care of the Ill Child and the Family
This work-study type course provides extensive clinical opportunities dealing with hospitalized children and their families. Students apply knowledge and nursing skills in selected care settings while employed as a patient care assistant 32 hours per week. Didactic instruction focuses on growth, developmental and pathophysiologic issues related to common childhood disorders.
