Core Curriculum Areas A‑E (with Overlay Areas I, II, and III): 42 Hours

Content Concentration: 9
Two areas of content concentration are required and must be selected from Mathematics, Language Arts, Science, and Social Science. These two areas, hereafter, are referred to as Concentration Area I and Concentration Area II. (It is highly recommended that Mathematics or Language Arts is selected as one area of content concentration.)
Select a total of 9 hours in your two areas of concentration. Select 6 hours in Concentration Area I and 3 hours in Concentration Area II according to the following:
- Mathematics Concentration may select any 1000 or 2000 level mathematics course. (MATH 1113 and MATH 2008 are recommended.)
- Language Arts Concentration may select any 1000 or 2000 level English course.
- Science Concentration may select any 1000 or 2000 level science course. (ISCI 2001 and ISCI 2002 are recommended.)
- Social Science Concentration may select any 1000 or 2000 level course from anthropology, economics, geography, history, philosophy, psychology, sociology, or political science.
Major Concentration: 60 Hours
In addition to classroom seat time, all Special Education courses have a required field experience in the public schools of 20-30 hours.
Content Concentration: 9
In Area F, 6 hours were selected in Concentration Area I and 3 hours were selected in Concentration Area II. In the Major Content Concentration select 6 hours in Concentration Area II and 3 hours in Concentration Area I according to the following:

Select any science course.
Social Science Concentration
Select any course from anthropology, economics, geography, history, philosophy, psychology, sociology, or political science.
