SOWK 3300 - Human Behavior and Social Environment



A study from a multi-theoretical perspective of the interaction of cultural, biological, psychological, social, spiritual, and environmental influences and how they work to promote or deter the development of individuals from birth through adolescence. Attention is given to the range of social systems in which people live. The impact of social and economic forces, oppression, gender, age, and social class on human adaptation will be examined as they relate to human behavior and social work interventions. Prerequisite(s): PSYC 1101, SOCI 1101, BIOL 1101, HUMN 2001, HUMN 2002, SOWK 1101.
