NURS 3201 - Foundations II: Healthcare Environments
Grade Mode: Normal, Audit This course examines the rapidly evolving field of healthcare and the central role of nurses as healthcare providers. Community based nursing practice which encompasses all healthcare environments is introduced. Focus is given to topics such as healthcare along a continuum, healthcare structures, and the influence of information driven and outcomes based healthcare systems. Nursing practice derived from national, regional, and local health priorities serve as central points for discussion. Trends which influence health and the choices people make regarding healthcare are explored. Students participate in learning opportunities involving analysis of practice-related issues and forecasting of trends in U.S. healthcare.
