NDPT 7712 - Clinical Education I




Grade Mode: Satisfactory-Unsatisfactory, Audit
Course Prerequisites: Successful completion of Semester 3 courses. The purpose of this clinical experience is to provide the student with an opportunity to initiate practical application of the clinical education and teaching skills from the initial professional year of class work. Students will have an opportunity to apply knowledge of foundational science principles (kinesiology, medical and exercise physiology, and neuroscience) and general examination and intervention skills to patient care. Students will be introduced to and have an opportunity to apply the five elements of patient client management (examination, evaluation, diagnosis, prognosis, plan of care and intervention). These skills will be performed under the direct supervision of a licensed practicing clinician. This ten-week assignment can occur in a variety of rural and/or urban facilities.
