NDPT 7342 - Patient Care skills IV: Prosthetics and Orthotics
Grade Mode: Normal This course will cover biomechanical principles for the design and function of lower and upper extremity orthotics and prosthetics. Specific emphasis will be placed on normal and pathologic gait analysis with orthotic and prosthetic devices. Students will learn to relate limitations of orthotic/prosthetic devices to physical therapy management (functional training). Case study exploration will additionally provide the basis for comprehensive physical therapy management (Examination, Evaluation, Dx/Prognosis, & Plan of Care) for people with lower limb amputation.
