COMM 4320 - Public Relations and Social Media Campaigns (3 Credit Hours)



Public relations practitioners have to be versatile communicators today who are masters of all forms of interpersonal and media communication methods and media. Students in this class will hone their strategic thinking skills, media content preparation and distribution skills, theoretical knowledge of public relations, and research skills. They will learn how to prepare messages for diverse audiences that can be used across multiple media platforms - both legacy media and social media. Students will learn the techniques PR people use to advocate on behalf of and to solve the problems of their clients. The course will focus on strategic planning messages, audience targeting and analysis, and budgeting via hand-on projects.
