ART 3960 - Art Museum Studies: The Business of Museums (3 Credit Hours)
This survey introduces students to the business of museums. The course includes discussions regarding the history, definitions, and philosophical nature of museums. Students will explore collection mangement practices, ethics, nonprofit administration, mission statements, and the role and responsibilities of museums within society. Classes will take place at the Augusta University campus, the Morris Museum of Art, and pre-determined museums within Augusta. A schedule will be provided at the beginning of the course.
