NURS 9050 - Strategies for Effective Practice Change



In this course students will examine the process necessary to effectively develop, implement, and evaluate a practice change project. Students will begin to apply the concepts of scholarly practice to address an indentified practice issue, and undertake in depth exploration and synthesis of the professional literature, professional standards practice and national benchmarks related to a specific area of practice. Students will identify the target population, community resource, and health care systems that will be impacted by their proposed project. Students will also investigate the policy implications and the opportunity for impacting policy change related to practice change project. Methods for implementing and evaluating effective change will be analyzed for validity, reliability, and feasibility in the context of practice change. Ethical research and protection of human subjects will be addressed.
