NURS 7210 - Advanced Seminar in Healthcare Policy and Economics
National, state and local healthcare policy impacts healthcare at the level of delivery. Economics is a driving force in healthcare that impacts policy and the manner in which healthcare is provided. Healthcare delivery models and reimbursement mechanisms will be analyzed from a policy and economic perspective. The relationship between policy, economics and patient care will be examined in areas such as the distribution of limited resources, healthcare disparities, diffusion of technology, and current issues in healthcare. Students will critically examine a clinical issue from an integrated policy and economic perspective in the form of a publishable essay.
