Prerequisite: Core Curriculum During assignment at Atlanta Medical Center, students will be introduced to Surgical Critical Care and Trauma. There is an 18 bed Surgical Intensive Care Unit (SICU) and a moderately busy Trauma Surgery service, and VICU and CVICU. During this rotation, the student will be assigned to patients in the SICU related procedures. There are daily teaching rounds in the SICU with the faculty and house staff, as well as a variety of surgical conferences on a weekly basis.
