PSRY 5039 - Neuropsychology/Rehabilitation Psychology Clinical Practice and Research - Special Elective
This course will introduce the medical student to the fundamentals of the clinical practice and research of neuropsychology/rehabilitation psychology. The course will also introduce the medical student to the practice of reviewing scientific literature as would be relevant for dissemination of scientific information, such as poster presentations and scientific articles.
The course will provide the student with learning experiences related to the provision of neuropsychology/psychology evaluation and treatment (e.g. psychotherapy) to inpatients and outpatients with traumatic brain injury (TBI), dementia and other cognitive disorders, seizure disorders, toxic metabolic disorders, encephalopathies, chronic pain, movement disorders (including Parkinson’s disease), and stroke, with or without co-morbid mental health disorders.
