    Review of theory and application as related to psychological tests of intellectual and cognitive functioning. The application part of the course focuses on supervised practice in the individual administration and scoring of widely used, psychometically sound cognitive tests.     The thesis is an independent research project conducted under the supervision of a faculty supervisor. All students pursuing the thesis option must complete a thesis proposal before data collection and defend their completed thesis to a faculty committee.     The goals of this course are to introduce students to key concepts in crime policy and help develop their policy analysis skills, including the ability to frame problems and policy alternatives, think critically about empirical evidence, use cost-effectiveness and benefit-cost analysis to compare policy alternatives, and write effective policy memos.     All MPH degree candidates in the informatics MPH programs are required to complete 5 credit hours in an internship experience. The internship is a field experience which integrates professional academic preparation and public health practice. Public health and health informatics knowledge and skills taught in the core and discipline-specific courses are used in an organizational setting under the supervision and guidance of an experienced preceptor. Under the guidance of a preceptor and the primary course instructor, students develop a Work Plan that bridges the students’ career goals with public health competencies. During the internship experience, students complete objectives defined in the Work Plan and other reports as specified in the course syllabus.
