Financial Aid information for students who matriculated to GHSU

The Office of Student Financial Aid (OSFA) is dedicated to providing guidance and assistance for students to help ease the financial burdens associated with their education. We strive to find the best possible sources of funding, within the law, for our students at Georgia Regents University.

We encourage students to contact our staff to discuss their personal circumstances, questions, or concerns they may have regarding their financial needs.

We strongly encourage students to maintain an active role in maintaining their living budgets, finding ways to decrease their debt, and utilizing as many sources as necessary to ensure a successful future.

Personnel will maintain strictly professional relationships with lenders to address servicing issues related to student funding. We will, based upon request from students, provide counseling regarding debt and prior service issues of lenders. However, lender selection is ultimately the decision of students and should be based on personal needs and preferences.

To apply for financial aid, including the HOPE and Zell scholarship, you must complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) at www.fafsa.ed.gov.

New students entering GRU in Summer - For financial aid purposes, Summer is the end of the award year, so you will need to complete two financial aid applications. Complete one FAFSA for the current year for the Summer and one for the next year.

To receive federal and state financial aid, you must be a U.S. citizen or classified as an eligible non-citizen and make satisfactory academic progress.

All financial aid programs fall into one of four categories: grants, loans, scholarships, and work-study. The Office of Student Financial Aid provides educational funds from all four sources. For further information about available programs and required forms visit our website, contact us via telephone, or visit the Office of Student Financial Aid in the Kelly Administration building during normal business hours. We also encourage you to explore other financial aid opportunities outside of Georgia Regents University.
